The Natural Resources Management Act 2004 (NRM Act) has the broad objective of protecting agriculture, the environment and the public from the impact of pest animals and plants.
Under the NRM Act it is illegal to keep pet dingoes or their hybrids south of the Dog Fence other than in permitted zoos or wildlife parks due to their unsuitability as pets and the risks they pose to humans, pets and livestock. It is an offence to move, keep, sell or release a dingo in this control area unless in possession of a permit.
If you see a dingo advertised for sale in South Australia it should be reported to your regional Natural Resources Management Board
