Dogs and Cats Online brings microchip registration, council registration and breeder registration together one place. It is the primary database councils, the RSPCA SA, AWL SA and veterinary practices use for identifying wandering dogs and cats (by microchip data) to reunite them with their owners.

Animal Welfare League SA and RSPCA SA
The Animal Welfare League SA and RSPCA SA use Dogs and Cats Online to record desexing procedures and microchip data for the dogs and cats they rehome, as well as update found dog and cat records to ‘sheltered’ to indicate their whereabouts.
Assistance dog organisations
Assistance dog organisations record and manage assistance dog accreditation in Dogs and Cats Online. This includes training accreditation, retirements and annual council registration for clients.
Local government
Dogs and Cats Online is the system South Australian councils use for managing dog and cat registration, dog attack/harass incidents (including control orders) and locating the owners of pets found wandering at large.
