All dog, cat, breeder and business registrations expire 30 June each year. Registration renewal notices are sent out, prompting you to re-register and check your details are correct or still current. Log in to check and update your and your animal's details, and pay by credit card, following these seven simple steps.

The fees on renewal notices have been calculated on the information in the system at the time of print and may change. Contact your council if you require assistance.

If you don't have a Dogs and Cats Online owner account, you'll need to register your dog/s or cat/s first. In doing so, you can also register as a breeder. You can also update your breeder registration when completing your registration renewal in July. Breeder registrations are non-transferable.

If you're not sure of your Dogs and Cats Online account details
When a breeder sells a microchipped puppy or a kitten, they must transfer its microchip record to the new owner. The new owner must then complete the registration into their name.

Before you purchase a puppy or kitten, check the breeder is registered in Dogs and Cats Online by performing a ‘breeder search’ (selected from the top menu). Breeder registration numbers must be listed in any advertisement for sale.
If your dog or cat goes missing, update your animal’s record on Dogs and Cats Online. You can chose to display a message with your contact information if you wish. Therefore anyone who finds your pet can look up the registration disc number in Dogs and Cats Online to contact you.

When your pet is safely home, don’t forget to update the Animal Status to ‘At Home’.
If you find a dog or a cat that appears to be lost, please contact the local Council. Only if it is safe to do so, check for identification on a collar.
If the dog has a registration number, you can search for the owner in Dogs and Cats Online.

You must keep your details current. If your pet is missing and taken to a council, vet or shelter; they'll scan it for a microchip; look up the number in Dogs and Cats Online; then contact you.
You can update your address, phone numbers or secondary contact, during the renewal process or when you log into your owner account. Alternatively, contact your local council for assistance. When you modify your personal details, your pet records (microchip and council registration) which are linked to your account will update automatically.
To stop receiving registration renewal notices, you can record you pet as ‘deceased’ for following the steps below. Alternatively, notify your local council as soon as you can.
